What can Healthy Pelvy: Pelvic Floor Therapy do for me postpartum? I thought I just had to “deal” with this.
Oh sweet postpartum friend. This is the absolute hugest change, isn’t it.
There’s something called matrescence. It’s another puberty, basically. And it’s when we become mothers. This is a HUGE shift in every regard. Hormonally, our bodies completely change. We’re sleep deprived. We may have have a cesarean surgery, or tearing with a vaginal delivery. We may have experienced significant pain. We may have had a relatively smooth experience! It can be all over the place.
However, the universally shared experience is we now have a little bundle (or more) that is fully relying on us now.
Beyond that, we also often feel completely different. AND we live in a world of “bounce back” culture.
Healthy Pelvy is here to help you navigate that. We focus on the physical aspect with the context of being able to function and move in a healthy and safe way. We cover exercises and treatment specific to your condition and your birth experience. We provide specific home program activities to address your concerns (leakage, pain, scar management, difficulty engaging a recently-stretched-core for lifting your new baby, getting in and out of bed, dressing yourself, etc).
We have resources to help you navigate postpartum including other practitioners (chiropractors, acupuncturist, massage therapists, doulas, postpartum doulas, night doulas, lactation consultants) as well as resources for your baby.
We firmly believe that all postpartum people (recently postpartum or years after) would benefit significantly with help from Healthy Pelvy.
